What are Activated Carbon Filters?
The name activated carbon filter basically says it all. It’s a filter that contains activated carbon. The carbon filters harmful and unwanted substances from the smoke or tobacco. This includes nearly 600 different substances that make life difficult for us. Many are carcinogenic.
We’re talking about tar, nicotine, various metals like nickel, arsenic or polonium, phenols, aromatic hydrocarbons and many other solid particles. Gases are also produced during the combustion process of our hand-rolled cigarettes. Think of various prussic acid compounds, carbon monoxide, ammonia, nitrogen compounds, nitrosamines and much more. Smoking tobacco is fundamentally unhealthy.

Activated carbon filters can filter out all these unwanted substances. And this makes sense, because tobacco companies are no longer required to list all ingredients. Only warnings or hazard communications need to be printed. What exactly you’re smoking, nobody can tell you at this point. It’s all the better if activated carbon filters could prevent this danger.
Joint Smoke is Twenty Times More Contaminated
Unfortunately, many people use only homemade paper tips for a joint. And so all harmful substances and ingredients get directly into the body without being stopped by anything even remotely. It’s precisely for such cases that activated carbon filters were developed, including these ones we were able to test from Miss Nice.
Do Activated Carbon Filters Reduce Potency?
Some claim this, but we couldn’t detect any reduction in potency. On the contrary, the first hit – which many often have to cough from – was definitely more pleasant and smoother. The Miss Nice activated carbon filters didn’t diminish the effect, it definitely stayed the same. But the smoke was much more pleasant in the lungs and didn’t scratch as much as when inhaling unfiltered smoke.
Recommendations from Miss Nice Activated Carbon Filters
Miss Nice recommends rolling the joint slowly with the activated carbon filters and smoking it enjoyably. The activated carbon is a highly effective and 100 percent vegan carbon. This even does the environment a favor. Miss Nice claims they brought the first activated carbon filters to market that were optimized for rolling into papers. The diameter of the activated carbon filters is about 6 millimeters, the design wasn’t simply ignored either, and the double-sided ceramic caps make the filters something special. Miss Nice’s goal was to replace the old tips in a dignified way, and what they achieved, we think, turned out particularly well.

The activated carbon filters have ceramic caps on both sides. This means you can roll the filters no matter which way they’re held. No more annoying fumbling. The ceramic caps are also heat-resistant and don’t burn up. Very practical, as we were able to confirm.
You want to roll one up, still somehow fiddle a piece of cardboard out of your normal cigarette pack, somehow roll it into a tube and then throw everything away because it didn’t turn out properly. Start over. You simply pull the activated carbon filters casually out of your little box and the tip is ready.

We also want to keep an eye on this when it comes to new products. Miss Nice pays close attention to sustainability. The packaging was produced in an environmentally friendly way, the impact on the environment was kept as minimal as possible.
