On October 8th, Federal Health Minister Nina Warken presented her draft for restrictive amendments to the medical cannabis law through cabinet. It is now urgent to prevent this draft from becoming law. An official parliamentary petition, organized by DoktorABC, aims to do exactly that.

No Mail Delivery and No Online Prescriptions for Cannabis
According to the German Hemp Association, federal ministers from the SPD have also approved the law’s restriction, which aims to ban the mail delivery of cannabis medications and prohibit the prescription of medical cannabis through online platforms. Now it’s up to activists and hemp advocates to take a stand and ensure continued patient care for those with mobility restrictions or living in rural areas. Nothing less than that is at stake in this moment.

Our Chance to Be Heard!
This petition aims to make clear to lawmakers that Nina Warken’s ideologically-driven and reality-detached draft law is harmful to public health and actually endangers it—and that it does not reflect the will of citizens. The ban on online prescriptions and the delivery of medical cannabis could force tens of thousands of people, including many seriously ill patients, back to obtaining supplies through the black market.
How You Can Help!
Every signature supports the health protection of consumers and patients who may lose access to clean cannabis if this law is passed in the Bundestag. As important as signing the petition yourself is sharing and spreading it on social media and within your personal networks. This petition reaches the Bundestag directly, making it the community’s great opportunity to be heard by lawmakers.
